Tyler Hines is a South Jersey native who graduated from Timber Creek Regional High School in 2008. Tyler went on to receive a full athletic scholarship to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, majoring in English. After graduating in 2012, he signed his first professional basketball contract in Greece. Tyler continued his professional career for six years, playing throughout Europe in Serbia, Macedonia, Austria, Cyprus, and Germany. Tyler is the co-founder of Team Hines Basketball Academy, Elite Level Athlete Training and Just a Kid From Sicklerville Mentoring and Leadership Program. After retiring from basketball in 2018, Tyler started working with the Black Horse Pike Regional School District as Lead District Mentor and created the BHPRSD Mentoring Program. Tyler maintains an active leadership role, involved in community affairs and philanthropy. The purpose of the BHPRSD Mentoring Program is geared towards teaching students throughout the district basic life skills, the value of education, quality of life choices, and how to create a thriving future. The BHPRSD Mentoring Team includes Ryan Thompson (Timber Creek) and Chancey Williams (Highland).
